Remove a Message from Blogger Help Group?

Yes, But Not Completely

Sometimes you may "think better" and want to take your words back. Or maybe you solved it two seconds later and can't bear for the world to know how stupid you were. For any reason, good or bad, you can remove it. It is worth noting that those persons who have their membership options set to receive every message reply by email will still have gotten their copy and you can't call those back. Therefore, your message is hidden only from those who were not emailed and who read the messages on the Web. To remove your message from the Blogger Help Group, click on "More Options" above the message then select "remove". Be sure you click in the circle for "Yes, remove it" then click the "Confirm" button. That's all!

Is There A List of Questions?

How do I find ALL the questions I have asked in BHG? Right up there where you just asked that question (when we're in one of Blogger Help Group's conversation "threads"): There's your Forum "name" and to the right of it is a link, "View profile", which will show some biographical info from your BHG Profile and it includes "Recent Activity", which will list every thread (whether 2 or 2000 of them) where you left a question or answer in the past. It is not ideal, but it is complete, and you can slowly go back through them. This may be stating the obvious, but if you're new and feel like you don't have a starting place for this, ask a new question or make a remark and after you publish, you'll be right there to click on "View Profile"!

There are other ways to search, with Google or other search engines, but the method described first up above is the "official" way of locating and reviewing all your old threads.

Blogger Has N0 Email or Phone Support!

WELL, DON'T GET BROKE UP ABOUT IT!

Blogger does not provide email-based support beyond the automated messages or give out telephone numbers. Not at Blogger Help Group (BHG) or much of anywhere else. [There is a fax number at Google's page about digital copyright and infringement. I assume if you fax them about off-subject concerns that those faxes may end up in the trash.] BHG is almost exclusively a forum where people ask questions about Blogger--then other, more experienced, "amateurs" try to answer them. Though a Blogger Employee may join the forum from time to time, it is not their 24-7 job to answer questions at BHG! Like you, I wish it was, but it isn't that way. Documents and other written help already exist at Blogger Help Group, so that's in addition to asking a question and hopefully getting answers from more experienced Bloggers. But that's it, as of this date. [More below...] I won't pretend that I can make it make sense to you. The bottom line is that IT IS THEIR FOOTBALL and if we don't like it, we can leave. They are never that rude when they make statements about their policies, but that's what it boils down to. They've obviously got the money, but they don't have enough time to piddle with each and every individual blogger. On this page of Blogger Help, it says: Need to contact our support team? We provide email support for the issues listed below. While we do read each email, you'll only hear from us (generally within three business days) if we need more information to resolve your issue. The following articles will help you determine if you need to contact us: Login and Access Issues Report Abuse Bugs For all other issues, please search the Help Center or ask for help in the Help Forum. As you see, they think they DO provide email support, but since they generally won't answer your damn email, I would still say that they DO NOT. Remove Blogger Help Group Message

To delete a word (or the whole message) you left in Blogger Help Group (BHG)

[You can do it, but there's no direct way to do so.]

Revise your message
1. Copy your message and revise it. 2. Copy the new text and/or code. 3. Paste the revised info into a new message. 4. If it works out right, delete (Remove) the original message.

Remove Message In Blogger Help Group:
1. Click on "more options" in the upper right corner of your own message. 2. Click on "Remove" in the list of options in blue text. 3. Click on "Yes, remove it now". 4. Click the "Confirm" button.

If it feels like you're telling it to do the above 3 times at least, welcome to the club!

How To Stop BHG Emails

Many of us cease to need these emails as suddenly as we began to need them!

Turn Off Blogger-Help-Group Email Messages
1. Go to "Edit my membership" 2. Set the options on the left to "no email" or click "Unsubscribe". 3. Click on "Save these Settings".

Leave Your Email At Blogger Help Group?

Your email address won't be published in BHG messages; Blogger will suppress it if you list it the normal way. You should use some spacing or else use tricks like:

ratsouthern AT gmail DOT com

And most experienced Internet users will know what you mean! Blogger won't suppress what it doesn't recognize nor will the spammer be likely to harvest it (which is what Blogger is trying to prevent when it suppresses our emails).

Gold Stars (In Blogger Help Group)

In Blogger Help Group, many new readers leave a question and then don't know how to retrace their steps to find out if an answer has ever been posted. If any of them are lucky enough to read this, the solution is easy.

Locate the blue-outlined white star to the left of each thread. Click the star and it will turn gold. When you return to BHG again, click on the word "Favorites" at the top of any page. You will then see a list of 1 or more of the threads you previously marked with gold stars. Click on the thread "title" of each star to view the thread and see if any answers were submitted. ALSO: You can click on "profile" in the top right of the Blogger Help Group pages. A list of ALL the questions/answers originating from you will appear under your profile details.

Don't waste time leaving your email in the ordinary format, it won't work and therefore no one can email you!

1. Give your URL (blog address). 2. GIVE DETAILS: State the specifics of your problem or question. Are you Classic or New (Beta) Blogger? Do not speak in a telegraphic style or assume we know all the latest abbreviated jargon--we have time here for ordinary language. 3.THREADS (Conversations) A. Don't pile onto a long thread if your issue is not the same. "Start a new topic," as it says at the top of the Blogger Help Group page. You'll get more results. B. However, don't start a new thread if you want to say "I have the same problem as him or her!" Place your message on the same thread so it'll stay there! Threads can change sequence because newly posted or updated ones go to the top of the group--thus causing your separate, abandoned thread to make less sense. C. Don't repeat your message in every category of this forum; it just makes things messy. If you're not a jerk, stay on one thread until the end of the conversation. If you are a jerk, just hang on until I have time to kill you. 4. REACHING BLOGGER: It cannot be emphasized too much that you should get your plea for help (if any) filed with Blogger Support now, soon, so that when and if they send you those damn automated responses, you can start writing back to them asking for human help! Be persistent, not rude. 5. DELETE YOUR MESSAGE: If you find that you put your query in the wrong category and want to put the message in a different category, or if you just realized you've asked a jackass question, or for whatever reason, YOU CAN DELETE the first posting. a. Click "More Options" in the upper right-hand corner above the question. b. Click on the "Remove" option. c. Then click on "Yes, Remove it now". d. Then click "Confirm".
